日本職棒（NPB）讀賣巨人10月1日晚間作客養樂多，阿部慎之助擊出今年第10號全壘打，從2001年菜鳥球季開始連18年雙位數開轟，改寫長嶋茂雄連17年新人球季連續雙位數開轟隊史紀錄，但巨人軍5：8輸球，距離季後賽還有半場勝差。

阿部慎之助打5棒一壘手先發，7局上面對養樂多先發投手小川泰弘，阿部將球掃上右外野看台，宣告改寫讀賣巨人隊史紀錄，這也是阿部慎之助生涯398轟。
